Leather Heart

Ragnarock asked us to make a human heart as a center piece in the exhibition about fan culture. We suggested to make the heart from black leather. What could be more Rock´N´Roll than that?

The heart is 2.5 m. standing on a 1.5 m. steel rod. It is sculpted in styrofoam and covered with fiber glass reinforced acrylic gypsum and EVAzote before gluing several hides of vegetable tanned black leather to the surface.
